Everyday Math:

Today, we explored lengths and heights by first comparing measurements with colored pencils. Then, we got creative and began using string that represented each individual students’ height. Some preferred to use their own physical body to do the measuring which was absolutely ok! They were however able to determine the benefits of using their height of string in the activity as they were able to step back and observe the similarities and differences between various lengths and heights throughout the classroom. imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage

Next, we worked on creating posters that represented a drawing of each student’s self compared to something that they measured in the class. imageimageimageimageimageimage
